The Union Baptist Church “Garden of Life” was dedicated June 17, 2001 as a place of celebration, meditation and final resting-place for cremated remains. Barbara McLeod made this area possible by the generous donation of land. The beautifully landscaped area includes a bronze plaque for the names of the Church members whose ashes remain in the garden. A walkway with engraved granite bricks celebrates designated individuals or families both living and deceased.
The Garden of Life offers an alternative to other burial options and provides a contemplative setting where all can enjoy a peaceful moment. A committee under the auspices of the Trustees oversees its maintenance in perpetuity.
