Robin needs help. If you like to fold paper – origami – and would be willing to make some origami pieces for Pentecost Sunday, please contact Robin. We will be making cranes (we need a lot of them).

Knitters, crocheters, and beginners are welcome to join this new ministry! A “Prayer Shawl Ministry” is a group of people who knit simple, small blankets and dedicate them with prayer and give them to those in need, whether it be for an illness, a crisis, or even for life’s joys, such as the arrival of a new baby. It is a powerful symbol of the encompassing love of God and church community, extending arms of care and compassion in a tangible and powerful way.

We are in need of yarn or donations to purchase yarn. if you would like to support the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please make a monetary donation for the purchase of materials, include “Prayer Shawl Ministry” in the memo line or bring in 3-4 skeins of yarn, Lion Brand Homespun or bulky yarn, size 5.

Plant sale on the UBC church stairs.

Proceeds to support the church General Fund.

MAEC (Mystic Area Ecumenical Council) will sponsor the Good Friday Walk. Stations of the Cross along the way are easily seen by walkers to emphasize the theme ‘‘We Are Walking with Jesus’’.

Money collected will support our local food lockers and shelters here in Groton, Pawcatuck, Westerly, Mystic & New London.

Registration is from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Mystic Congregational Church on Broadway.

Take this 7 mile scenic walk to Old Mystic Methodist and back.

UBC is a member of MAEC.
