In addition to the physical and financial support to the affiliated organizations, Union Baptist sponsors the Happy Time Nursery School, helps provide meals for needy families through the SunShine Kitchen, the Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality, supports the Hospital Chaplaincy Program at L & M Hospital, and is a partner in providing housing for the elderly at Mystic River Homes. Volunteers and financial assistance are also provided to Main Street and High Street Houses, providing support programs for teenaged girls.

The church maintains its Meeting House tradition by offering its facilities for regular use by such groups as AA and Al Anon, Mystic River Ambulance Association, various clubs, scout groups and a variety of community and ecumenical events.

Participation in American Baptist Missions programs and in other special purpose offerings of the American Baptist Churches is also an important part of the outreach programs of Union Baptist Church.
